Is it safe to buy a camera on Ebay?
I am looking at a Nikon D300 on Ebay, I was wondering if anyone out there have ever made a camera purchase. I just don’t want to get ripped off or get a box of rocks in the mail.
I bought an expensive Canon lens and accessories there, not camera though, and it went fine. You just have to research your seller, check the feedbacks (read all of them and read the date and time stamps when the feedback was left-for example if the buyer left a feedback minutes after the auction ended, then red flag there.), use this tool to see all negative feedbacks and false positives,

and before bidding or clicking buy it now, you ask questions and see if the seller communicates in a timely manner, if he/she doesn’t reply, move on to another seller.
And if you run into some problems, you can file claim for full refund in Paypal (make sure you only pay with credit card through Paypal). If the seller sends you a box of rocks, file “Item Not As Described” in Paypal and 99.9% Paypal sides with the buyer and refunds you the sale price and the shipping fees. If you don’t receive the item, file “Item Not Received”. And check for return policies of sellers, choose sellers with return policies or ask if they don’t post it.
I’ve bought Macbook Pro there too and no problems at all. I got great deals.
